Luiz Fernandes
Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Luiz began training Judo at age 10 and went on to build a highly successful wrestling career, becoming a 10-time Brazilian National Wrestling Champion and a Pan American Games silver medalist. He later transitioned to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, earning his black belt under André Pederneiras, founder of Nova União. Throughout his competitive career, Luiz has earned major titles and medals in both wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the national and international level. Today, he brings decades of experience in Judo, wrestling, and BJJ to every class at EVR1.

Marcos Escobar
A sixth-degree black belt under Master Leo Castello Branco (Carlson Gracie lineage), Escobar is an MMA veteran (2-0-0) who trained with Nova União under Master André Pederneiras. He pioneered Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Malaysia.
